Armenians stranded at Upper Lars return
Armenian citizens stranded at the Upper Lars checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian border began returning to Armenia.
Tigran Balayan, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told A1+ that it is useless to wait for six days for the blocked checkpoint to reopen anew.
Unfavourable weather conditions reportedly kept over 350 Armenians, who are attempting to cross the Russian border, stuck on the checkpoint for two days. Citing official reports from Georgia, the Ministry of Transport and Communication of Armenia said on its website the checkpoint will remain blocked for 5-6 days.
The Ministry warns drivers to avoid traveling across the border during the reporting period.
