Voluntary rescuers awarded
On April 10, two citizens who brought several drivers who had been stuck in snow were awarded at the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations.
RA Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan awarded the diploma of the Ministry of Emergency Situations to RA citizens Aghabek Hakobyan and Karapet Melkonyan for showing effective support to the rescue efforts, helping the people in a difficult situation and humanitarianism.
On February 10, there was an emergency situation at the 25th km section of the Yerevan-Sevan highway. Due to heavy snowfall, dozens of cars were stuck in snow. Two citizens with a Hummer voluntarily helped rescuers of the rescue department of Kotayk province and road patrol officers on the scene and managed to bring out 35 cars out of the snow without causing any injuries.
