Charles Aznavour, UN official discuss refugee issues
Armenia's Ambassador to Switzerland Charles Aznavour has met with UN High Commissioner for Refugees António Guterres to discuss cooperation programs between Armenia and the High Commissioner's Office, reports the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Armenian Ambassador found it highly important that the UN official participated in 2011 in a Yerevan-hosted conference related to the housing problems of refugees forcibly displaced from Azerbaijan. In this context, Charles Aznavour stressed the necessity of supporting Armenia in its future undertakings.
António Guterres said his office keeps the problem of internally displaced persons and refugees in its spotlight. He also reiterated his readiness to support Armenia in its initiatives aimed at finally resolving the issue of refugees.
