Samvel Balasanyan's bodyguards beat two citizens in Gyumri
The bodyguards of Gyumri's new Mayor Samvel Balasanyan have beaten two citizens of the city, according to local GALA TV.
The incident occurred in the morning of October 11, when the seven-member team severely beat local residents Artur and Ruben in one of the city yards. The family members (wife and three daughters) of one of the beaten men were present at the beating.
This came following a dispute between Balasanyan's teammates and Artur, who earlier worked in an object owned by the newly-elected mayor. For many years, Arthur was involved in sports, later he worked in Anusharan Ltd [owned by Samvel Balasanyan] as a security guard but some time later Artur was fired without any explanation.
David Sargsyan, Prosecutor of Shirak Marz (province), said he was unaware of the incident. GALA says that the Investigation Department of the marz has tried to question the relatives of the beaten men.
