Support A1+!From the very first days of the hostilities, beginning September 27th, spontaneous volunteer support is already overseen by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. The goal is to distribute support directed to the survivors of the enemy fire, evenly. The previously established headquarters coordinates that task.
"I recommend those who want to help to apply to community bodies, regional administrations, for them to indicate what kind of support is needed during that period", said the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Tatevik Stepanyan. "Unfortunately, there have been cases where people pretending to represent the government visited shelters, taken photos and distributed materials, and have taken money. In such cases, call the police."
The Ministry has provided large-scale humanitarian aid in form of food, hygiene items and other necessary resources to meet the basic needs of the civilian population in Artsakh and to solve their living problems in temporary shelters. Humanitarian aid arrived in Artsakh on October 1, amounting to about 145 million drams. At the moment, the task is to allocate assistance to those who have been relocated here.
In regards to the needs and support of children from Artsakh "World Vision Armenia" child protection program is the coordinator. The project manager Aida Muradyan states that they work in cooperation with state officials.
"We closely cooperate with all the ministries, local self-governments, we try to get information from them about who needs what, so that there are no mistakes. We should not have a situation where the help is directed to one place only, leaving the rest uncovered."
The care and support of the elderly is coordinated by "Mission Armenia"organization.
"Most of the help is dedicated to elderly and pregnant women. We provide support for food, clothing and bedding. "These are the basic needs that we immediately give to the applicants," said Vice President Alla Harutyunyan. We also provide temporary shelters for the elderly since we have the opportunity. It is good that a headquarters has been set up, from which we can coordinate our work”.
