The war began in the nineties for Elen Harutyunyan from Stepanakert.

She was six years old when she lost her father and brother. In 2015, her military husband passed away, leaving Elen alone with her three children.

"I got an apartment last year, thinking at least my kids' lives would be peaceful. They will get education. Andranik and Avetis have decided to become musicians, one wants to play the guitar and write songs, the other - duduk. And six-year-old Ani has definitely decided that she will become a doctor and will treat the wounded soldiers. As a child,I dreamt of becoming a nurse like my daughter. I dreamt that the soldiers would only get wounded but they would not die. Some part of my dream, alas, came true. I became a nurse, but even today, our hero boys are martyred. ”
