Artur Sakunts: People on the list should be made accountable (video)
Helsinki Citizens' Assembly-Vanadzor today issued a list of people who, the organization says, are responsible for the March 1, 2008, post-election turmoil in Armenia. The list is headed by the then President Robert Kocahryan, Speaker of the National Assembly Tigran Torosyan, Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan and Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanyan. Talking to A1+, HCAV Chairman Artur Sakunts said they intend to return to the public agenda the band responsible for the March 1 tragedy. “We also want to draw the attention of law enforcement agencies to the bloody clashes. If they want to give a legal assessment to the events, they should examine the people on the list,” Artur Sakunts said adding that they list will be presented to the international community as well. He says the people on the list should be made accountable. “It will determine whethere there is a political will to unveil the March 1 tragedy,” said Mr. Sakunts.
