Opinion: If journalists want, they can be free (video)
Freedom of expression does not exist in Armenia, says Janna Alexanian, Chairwoman of Journalists for Human Rights NGO. “We have numerous TV Companies that cover the same occurrence omitting the most important piece of information, i.e. the use of violence by the police,” she said. Janna Alexanian says the authorities are not interested in ensuring freedom of expression because it is not advantageous to them. “But the owners of this country are people who want to hear correct and unbiased information,” she said. “I regret that we do not have real journalists today but if they want, they can be free and independent.”
