ARONYAN’S CHANCES ARE SLIM

The chess super tournament in Veyk an Zee, the Netherlands, with the participation of 14 famous grand masters, has taken the attention of the whole chess world. A chess super tournament has started in Veyk an Zee in which 14 famous grand masters participate including Levon Aronyan. In the first round the Armenian player tied with David Navara, the best player of the Czech Republic. In the second round Aronyan beat Ruslan Ponomarev from Ukraine.

ARMENIAN WRESTLERS IN FRANCE

ARMENIAN FOOTBALL PLAYERS STILL HAVE A CHANCE

Armenian Women’s Football team was beaten by the Israeli team 0:1 in the qualifying phase of the 2009 Europe Cup. Prior to it, the Armenian football players tied with the Bosnian team 1:1.

HISTORICAL POINT

The Armenian women's national football team won the first point in its history tying with Bosnia 1:1. Before this the Armenian national team had lost all the matches without scoring even once.
