Karen Karapetyan: The adopted fiscal policy will create grounds for future 5% economic growth (video)
The NA Standing Committees are discussing the RA draft law on State Budget of the Republic of Armenia for 2018. At the beginning of the discussion, Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan announced that taking into account the Government's goals for 2017-2022, amendments had been projected in fiscal policy. "It will largely be limited to the external debt sustainability, and the fiscal policy will be considered by revising the expenditure side, focusing more on capital expenses. The Prime Minister said that the current developments were encouraging, but the economic growth rates were not strong enough to claim a long-term economic growth. "The adopted fiscal policy will create grounds for future 5% economic growth. Extensive work will be needed to achieve this indicator. The fiscal policy will demand certain rules. Our revenue policy will be balanced either by reducing black economy, or improving business environment." At the end, the Prime Minister wished everyone effective work and good mood.
