Woodworking Museum has problems with heating (video)
Woodworking Museum, opened in 1977, is unique not only in Armenia, but in the whole Europe. Ritual trays, baking sticks, and many other items used in everyday life, which were transformed into artwork by the timber masters and are now kept in the museum. "Albert Stepanyan, Minister of Woodworking, decided to open such a museum. Hovhannes SHarambeyan, artist Vardan Ohanyan, Grigor Khanjyan supported him. They cooperated, founding the museum," said Armine Arsenyan, Senior Researcher of the museum. The museum consists of ancient cultural, sculptural and applied art sections. Contemporary masters' works are presented in the last two sections. The museum has a souvenir shop where you can buy many of these items. "We have a souvenir shop where many museum samples are sold. Of course, it is small, but it is an exclusive one, as we have agreements with the artists according to which their pieces of art are available only in our museum," said Armine Arsenyan. Unfortunately, this unique museum of its kind did not remains unaffected by problems. At first sight, the illuminating lighting is not done intentionally done. Besides the main problem, the museum also has lighting and heating problems. "Of course, we have problems. There is no family without having problems. The most important problem is restoration. We are waiting for our turn, appointed by the Ministry. By solving that problem, other minor problems will also be solved," said Armine Asrenyan. She assured that the museum had a lot of visitors. "Our museum is a small specific one, not everyone loves it. But those who do cannot help visiting it. One of our visitors says "Coming is easy, but leaving is not." The tourist, who are truly interested in woodworking, are very impressed by the museum," she said. By the way, the museum statistics shows that now the number of native visitors has increased several times over the next 2-3 years.
