Azerbaijan almost completly de-energized
Azerbaijan has been almost completely de-energized, but authorities report that electricity is slowly recovering. The authorities note the explosion in the thermal power plant in the north as a reason for de-energizing. From the office of the President it was reported that the excessively hot weather led to a wide use of air conditioning systems, which caused the accident. It is reported that the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, was completely in the dark for several hours. Early in the morning, electricity was restored in hospitals, military bases, the Baku Metro, the airport and a number of other structures.
