TRIAL WAS POSTPONED

PAVEMENTS ARE BEING CLEANED

The second month of winter is almost over, but the pavements at the center of the capital are still covered with ice thus becoming dangerous for people. Representative of the Yerevan municipality Levon Mnatsakanyan assured us that after the January 5 heavy snowfall mayor of the city Yervand Zakharyan has assigned to the district heads to clean the streets and pavements and to take control of the situation.

PENSIONER BURNT IN THE LIVING-ROOM

On January 14 at 01:48 p.m. a fire broke out in the Korean street 41, Yerevan. A fire brigade left for the site. The fire was put out at 02.02 p.m. The roof and living-room of the house belonging to Aghavni Batikyan burnt to ashes.

MORE CASES OF LIMB FRACTURE

According to hospital records, the number of the cases of limb fracture has risen by 30-50% this year. The main reason is the icy conditions of pavements which have not been cleaned. Although the municipality claims that salt and sand have been stored in order to take care of the roads, nothing is done in order to clean the pavements.

FIRE IN NAIRIT

THEY DEMANDED FREEDOM

An unknown car hit Ruzanna Petrosyan (b. 1962) who was taken to hospital with corporal injuries where she died without coming to her senses.

COURT OF CASSATION: THOSE SENTENCED TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT ARE INNOCENT

Today the Court of Cassation has made a sudden and sensational decision: Razmik Sargsyan, Musa Serobyan and Arayik Zaryan who were accused of the murder of soldiers Movses Mkrtoumyan and Roman Eghiazaryan and sentenced to life imprisonment by the previous two instances, have been declared innocent.

ONE-YEAR-OLD CHILD WAS BEATEN

On December 20 the Erebuni Department of Police Forces got an information from the hospital that one-year-old Mayis (born in 2005) was taken to hospital with “brain concussion” and “injury of facial muscle”. As we learned from the boy's aunt, after beating Mayis severely, the mother left her son alone in the street.

50- YEAR-OLD WOMAN BURNT IN HER OWN FLAT

On December 20 a fire broke out in one of the apartments of House 56, Garegin Nzhdeh Street at about 9:00 p.m. Two fire brigades immediately left for the site.
