FRIENDLY OR NON-COMPETITIVE MATCHES

Today, quarter semi-final re-matches will be held for the Armenian Football Cup. The meetings are non-competitive though the best Armenian 8 teams are playing: this is due to their official permits for next game.

AZERBAIJAN HASN’T CHANGED ITS STANCE

The venue of the Armenia-Azerbaijan football meeting will likely be known on April 18, Faud Asadov, the head of the Football Federation Association of Azerbaijan, reports.

ONE MEDAL FROM SERBIA

The European Judo Championship has ended in Belgrade. To note, Armenian sportsman Hovhannes Davtyan /60 kg/ won silver medal thus becoming vice-champion of Europe.

GABRIEL SARGSYAN’S FIRST VICTORY

The meetings of the sixth tour of the European Individual Chess Championship have come to an end. Armenian GM enjoyed his first victory beating Boris Esen. To reminds, Sargsyan tied the previous five meetings.

EXPECTATIONS ARE GREAT FROM NAZARYAN

The European Judo-2007 Championship kicks off in Belgrade, Serbia, on April 6.2007. To note, four Armenian sportsmen participate in the current championship; Hovhannes Davtyan /60kg/, Armen Nazaryan /66kg/, Armen Ispiryan /81kg/ and Anush Hakobyan /52kg/.

ENGLAND INVITES ARMENIA

The Engish futsal /mini-football/ team expressed its wish to hold two friendly meetings with the Armenian team, Rouben Nazaretyan, chief coach of the Armenian futsal team informed A1+.

LITTLE INFORMATION FROM DRESDEN

RA chess players were a success at the second tour of Europe Chess Championship held in Dresden. Karen Asryan, Rafael Vahanyan, Tigran Petrosyan, Elina Danielyan won at the championship, whereas Gabriel Sargsyan, Lilit Mkrtchyan and Artashes Minasyan tied the meeting.

DELAYED MEETING

Last Wednesday the Armenian football team was beaten 0:1 during the Poland-Armenia meeting. It is due to mention that the coaches of the national team met the representatives of media only today.

INFORMATIONAL VACUUM

The European Individual Chess Championship kicked off in Dresden. We failed to get full information on the outcome of the first tour regardless of the fact that the championship is held in Germany. This is striking as the matter refers to a European Championship and not to an ordinary school contest.

DOKHOYAN IS IN 'PYUNIK'

Karen Dokhoyan solemnly signed a one-year contract with RA National Team. He got a T-shirt with number 14 on it. The skillful football player mentioned that he preferred to play for «Pyunik» in spite of the fact that he had received several offers from “Anzhi”, Makhachkala and a number of Armenian teams.

ARMENIA-MONGOLIA COMPETITION

RA National Hokey team, headed by chief coach Douglas Dechezari is getting ready for the World championship, held on April 6. The Armenian hokey players are involved in C group.

REPRESENTATIVE OF “HAMASPYUR” ENJOYED VICTORY

“Spartak” sports ground hosted the representatives of Mass Media on April 1. The reason for the event was the table tennis contest organized by “Aravot” daily and “Mir Sporta” journal with the financial support of VivaCell.

ARONYAN IS THE FORTH

FIDE has made public the rating list of the chess players. To note, Armenian GM Levon Aronyan is the forth with 2759 points.

ARONYAN TOOK A REVENGE

Armenian GM Levon Aronyan beat Vasili Ivanchuk 1.5:0.5 in the 11th tour of the Monte Carlo chess international tournament. It is noteworthy that prior to this meeting, Aronyan beat his Ukrainian opponent Ivanchuk in the blindfold tour and tied the rapid tour.

ANOTHER FAILURE

Contrary to Armenian football fans expectations, Armenian team once again lost the match and was even unable to score a single goal during the Armenia-Poland match. RA National Team disappointed the Armenian football fans not to be able to create real opportunities at the rival’s goal. This is the 6th successive match Armenian football players fail to score a goal.

ARONYAN FAILS IN MONTE CARLO

Armenian grand master Levon Aronyan did not show himself the best at the 10th round of 'Amber-2007' tournament.

ARMENIAN FOOTBALLERS TO HONOR PRIME MINISTER’S MEMORY

On March 28, Armenian footballists will honor RA Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan’s memory with a minute of silence and wear black fillets during the Poland-Armenia meeting. To note, the match will take place in the city of Kliece, Poland, at 11:30 p.m./Yerevan time/.

ARONYAN AND ANAND BEAT EACH OTHER

“Amber - 2007” chess tournament was resumed after a day’s rest. It is noteworthy that Levon Aronyan and Vishmanatan Anand tied the meeting 1:1; the Armenian GM beat Anand in the blindfold tour and the latter beat his Armenian opponent in the rapid tour.

SARGSYAN PLAYS QUICKLY AND WELL

Armenian GM Gabriel Sargsyan, the winner of the recent international chess tournament, enjoyed one more victory. He became the winner of chess rapid tournament gaining 7.5 points out of 9.

ARONYAN SURRENDERS

Levon Aronyan was practically deprived of the chance to win in the chess international tournament held in Monte Carlo. Though Aronyan beat Morozovich 1.5:0.5 in the 8th tour, he was beaten by Kramnik and Svidler prior to his victory.

GABRIEL SARGSYAN ENJOYED VICTORY

Armenian GM Gabriel Sargsyan secured his victory prior to the finish of the chess tournament held in Spain. To note, Gabriel beat Peres Candelario in the 6th tour and currently tops the meeting table with 5:5 points. Sargsyan already outstrips his opponents, regardless of the results of the final tour.

ARMENIAN PAIR IN THE 22nd PLACE

Anastasia Grebenkina-Vazgen Azroyan ice dancing pair was in the 19th place after the first two contests of the World Figure Skating Championships held in Tokyo. Today the Armenian pair slipped back to the 22nd place.

STRUGGLE HEATED UP

The Blindfold and Rapid Chess Tournament was resumed after a day's rest. To remind, 12 grand masters participate in the Monte Carlo chess international tournament.

'GANDZASAR' BEAT ' BENTONIT'

Today three more football matches took place in the Cup Championship in Armenia.
